ACC & Pain Support
At ORA Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine we support people experiencing pain and injury with acupuncture, myofascial release, cupping and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Whether it’s lower back pain, neck tension, headaches, sports injuries or ongoing muscular discomfort, treatment is tailored to the individual and focused on helping you move and feel better.
Acupuncture is recognised by ACC New Zealand for injury-related treatment, and many injuries may be eligible for ACC cover. This can include sprains, strains, work injuries, sports injuries and pregnancy-related injuries where there has been a specific strain or accident involved.
Conditions we often treat include:
-
Lower back and pelvic pain
-
Neck and shoulder tension
-
Headaches and migraines
-
Sciatica
-
Sports and gym injuries
-
Pregnancy-related musculoskeletal pain
-
Jaw tension and TMJ discomfort
-
Tendonitis and repetitive strain injuries
Treatment may include a combination of acupuncture, gentle cupping, heat therapy and soft tissue release techniques to help reduce pain, improve circulation and support recovery.
Research has shown acupuncture can be beneficial for a range of musculoskeletal conditions and chronic pain presentations, particularly alongside movement and rehabilitation approaches.
If you’re unsure whether your injury may be covered under ACC, feel free to get in touch.
